Jean Hoot

Jean was born on September 24, 1940, in Morristown, NJ, to parents, Denyce and Margaret (Robbins) Atwater. Jean was an Executive Secretary, working for Time Inc for 8 years. A devoted animal lover, and lifelong fan of classical music, Jean enjoyed the true beauty of life. She found joy in crossword puzzles, and spending time on the computer. She was known for her kind heart and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Gerald Hoot; sister, Margaret Deppe; and her children, Daryl Hoot and Leslie Hoot.

A Visitation for Jean will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 145 East Mount Pleasant Ave, Livingston, NJ 07039. A Funeral Service will occur at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home, with a Committal to follow at 12:15 PM at Restland Memorial Park, in East Hanover.
