It is with great sadness that the family of Ileen Joyce Paley, 64, announces her passing at home in Short Hills, New Jersey on Wednesday, November 3, 2021.
Ileen Joyce Paley was born in New York, New York and was raised in Great Neck, Long Island. Ileen graduated from Barnard College in 1977 with a degree in urban planning and received a law degree from the Columbia Law School in 1980. In 2000, Ileen graduated from the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and later completed a residency at the Veterans Hospital in East Orange, New Jersey. When her children were in elementary school, Ileen was a frequent volunteer in various capacities and especially enjoyed teaching art history.
Ileen leaves behind her wife Jeanne Waldman, daughters Miriam and Sarah and son Matthew, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Melvin and Muriel Paley.
Ileen was devoted to her family, and loved music, art, and rescue dogs. She was a gentle soul with a keen intellect and faced her illnesses courageously.
