Gayle Berkowitz Levy, 82, of Livingston, NJ passed away on Monday, Aug. 1, 2022. Born in Newark and raised in Maplewood by the late Daniel and Sophy Berkowitz. Gayle raised her family in West Orange, and then relocated to Roseland.
Gayle was the beloved wife of David Levy for 51 years, loving mother of Pamela Weiner (Bryan) and Mara Stauber-Levy (Mimi), devoted grandmother of Spencer and Matthew Weiner and Leo and Jack Stauber-Levy, cherished sister of Merle Hornstein (Stephen), the late Rhoda Wiederhorn (Larry), and the late Ilene Menell (Paul).
Gayle will be remembered as the brightest light in any room. She was a funny, kind and loyal soul who loved her family and friends beyond measure.
A funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022 at Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston, NJ. Burial to follow at Beth Israel Cemetery. Donations may be made in Gayle's memory to The American Lung Association or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
