Cheryl Dian Nolte Barnes, 79, of Maumelle passed away December 13, 2024. She was born September 22, 1945 in Corona, California to the late Carol and Evlyn Heers. In addition to her parents, Cheryl was welcomed into Heaven by her late husband and two sons, Henry the 3rd and Shawn Nolte.
Cheryl will be lovingly remembered for her shining heart of gold and the warmth she brought to everyone she met. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith were evident in every aspect of her life. Cheryl was not only a devoted Christian wife and mother but a woman who made each day brighter with her infectious smile and gentle spirit. However, her greatest joy and the role she treasured most deeply was being a grammy "bema" to her grandchildren. The love she shared with them was immeasurable, and she poured endless love, wisdom, and encouragement into their lives, creating cherished memories that will live on forever in their hearts.
Those left to cherish the memories of Cheryl include her husband, Jim Barnes; children, Tabitha Couch and Troy Nolte; grandchildren, Atleigh Couch, Layla Couch, Quentyn Couch, Alora Asplin, Lillee Asplin, Hope Asplin, Madison Asplin, Bryce Asplin, Ashley Prentice, Easton Prentice and siblings, Tim and Ron Heers, and Cathleen Norcott and Terrie Thompson; as well as extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 3, 2025 at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will occur one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Cheryl will be laid to rest at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery following the service.
