Stephen B. Cox, age 69, of Little River, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023. Stephen was born and raised in Loris, SC. Stephen was one of five children(Kenny, Jimmy, Diane, and Terri) born to Nina and Ken Cox, who he joins in heaven.
Stephen graduated from Loris High School where he played football. Shortly after graduating, he moved to the North Myrtle Beach/ Little River area. He spent most of his working years working for various food distribution companies.
In 1992, Stephen met his wife, Theresa Cox, who he loved deeply and wholeheartedly. They wed on February 21, 1993. Together they have his four children (Stephanie (Jason), Kevin, Josh (Leslie), and Shanna (Chris)), and her two (Kris and Elaine). They also have sixteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild that he supported with undying love and affection.
Stephen’s hobbies included spending time with his family, watching old westerns, and enjoying the outdoors. However, he was well known for his love of cooking, and his passion for cheering on the Carolina Gamecocks! During the college football season, you could find him tuning in to every game. He was also famous for his delicious chicken bog, which he made for many family occasions.
Stephen will always be remembered for his strong, humorous spirit. No matter the situation, he was always able to keep a smile and make others laugh. He loved hard, and made an impact on everyone that he met.
In death, he joins his parents, his two late siblings (Jimmy and Diane), and his son (Kevin). We find comfort in knowing they are all together again.
A service for Stephen will be held in the fall. Please reach out to the family for more details.
