Kevin Andrew Pearch, 57, passed away on March 21, 2025, in Little River, South Carolina. Born on July 20, 1967, in Cleveland, Ohio, Kevin lived a life marked by kindness, passion for sports, and an unwavering belief in the goodness of people.
Kevin was the kind of person who made everyone feel like they were his best friend. He carried with him a deep conviction that if you put good into the world, good would come back to you. This philosophy guided his interactions and relationships throughout his life. He never judged others for their choices but instead met them with love and acceptance exactly where they were.
A natural athlete from a young age, Kevin was an All-American competitor who seemed to master every sport he tried. He was a scratch golfer and an avid pool player whose skills were admired by many. Whether it was on the field or off, Kevin’s competitive spirit was matched only by his humility and encouragement of others.
His love for sports extended far beyond playing. Kevin was a devoted fan who followed college athletics and NASCAR with enthusiasm. Saturdays were reserved for Ohio State football, while Duke basketball ruled the winter months. Sundays were sacred for NASCAR races—Kevin never missed a lap.
But perhaps Kevin’s greatest legacy lies in how he connected with youth. He had an extraordinary ability to relate to young people and inspire them to see their own potential. As a coach, mentor, and friend, he became a favorite among those he guided. If someone was willing to put in the work, Kevin would stand beside them every step of the way—cheering them on with unwavering support.
Kevin is survived by his daughter Brittany Ackerman; his step-children Amber Jones and Dustin Herring; his brother Bryan Pearch; his sister Janice Smith; his nieces Brittany Smith and Laine Smith; and his great-nephew Barrett Holden. He was preceded in death by his parents, F. Bryce Pearch and Florence Pearch.
Kevin’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him—on the golf course, at the game-day gatherings, around the pool table, and especially on the sidelines where he coached so many toward greatness.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire kindness, perseverance, and love without judgment.
