John Taylor Boone, 74, marine contractor and beloved husband of Jeddie Boone passed away on August 7, 2024, at his home in Little River. He was born in Arlington, VA to Joseph Brent Boone and Doris Depen Boone.
Taylor grew up in McLean, Virgina with brothers, Gary and Joe Boone and sister, Sharon Boone. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1968 and was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Division. He served in the “Dodge City” area of Vietnam, participated in Operation Pipestone Canyon and was honorably discharged in 1970. He moved to North Myrtle Beach where he was a highly productive sales manager for the Maritime Beach Club and took up big game sport fishing. After Maritime he joined Myrtle Builders, Inc. and was superintendent for the construction of Sparks Toyota. He then moved to Thompson, GA and became the professional whipper-in for the Belle Meade Hunt. He founded Palmetto Marine Construction, Inc. in 2011 and has many bulkheads, docks and boat lifts along the Grand Strand as his legacy. He planned a TransAmerica Trail trek on an adventure bike but was unable to embark on it due to declining health. He will be remembered as a kind but restless spirit; always planning his next adventure.
Taylor was devoted to his family and survived by his wife, Jeddie, brother, Joe Boone of Bethany Beach, DE, his sister Sharon Golden of Arlington, VA, his nephews, Brent, Christian, Taylor, Grant, Wills, Luke, Ben, Tanner, and Grayson Boone, of Annapolis, MD, James Boone of Tampa, FL, Garrett and Kyle Petersen of McLean VA, Mac and Reid Lindsey of Portland, OR, and his nieces Meredith Petersen of McLean, VA and Claire Lindsey of Portland, OR.

A Celebration of his life is planned for September 20th at the Lee Funeral Home in Little River at 4 pm. His burial service with honors will be at the Arlington National Cemetery, in Virginia.
