David Howard

David B. Howard, 78, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024. Born in Tacoma, WA, David was a son of the late Bruce and Virginia Hudson Howard. He was the father of Doug Howard (fiancé, Katie Freimuth) and brother of Carl Sjorgren.

At a young age, his family moved from Tacoma, WA to Vienna, VA. He was a graduate of James Madison High School and following high school, he worked with the Fairfax County Fire Department. At this time, all fireman positions were voluntary so when it became a paid position, David was issued a badge number. He was always proud that it was a low number because that meant he had been there since the beginning. He remained with Fairfax County Fire Department until his retirement.

After retirement, he moved to North Myrtle Beach, SC. For extra spending money and just for fun, he would weekend bartend at the North Myrtle Beach Bowling Alley, currently known as 810 Bowling. He made many friends and enjoyed his time while working.
