Barbara E. Larsen

Born in Oslo, Norway to Marc and Florence (Frederickson) Matsen in 1938, she spent her youth in Illinois, Pennsylvania, and New York, as well as in Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. She married her late husband, Edward R. Larsen, in 1961 and raised their family in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY, the place they called home until retiring to Sunset Beach in 2005.

She enjoyed traveling, playing golf, bridge and mahjong and, of course, spending a lot of time celebrating life with family and friends.

Barbara is survived by her children, Robert E. Larsen; Ronald E. Larsen and his wife Margaret; and Cheri Lee Sanchez (Larsen) and her husband Juan; and her grandchildren Eric, Taylor, Kyle, Ryan, Justin and Isabella. Her husband, Edward R. Larsen; son Richard M. Larsen; and her brother Marc “Jack” Matsen preceded her in death.

A visitation will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 4:00pm to 6:00 pm at Lee Funeral Home, 11840 SC-90, Little River, South Carolina 29566.

Barbara’s final resting place will be at Kensico Cemetery, located in Valhalla, NY, on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 1:00pm.
