Mary Ann Simpson

Mary Ann “Tootsie” Simpson (nee Smith), age 87 of Lisle passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on December 21, 2019. She was reunited with her beloved husband and love of her life for 66 years, the late James “Jimmy” Simpson. Cherished and loving Mother to June Simpson (Carl Fowlkes) and Jamie Simpson (Scott Holmes) and treasured “Gramma” to Danielle Clas. She was also adored as a sister, aunt, and friend to many.

Mary Ann was an active volunteer for Operation Support Our Troops, a member of the Red Hats Society, an avid Bears fan, and enjoyed her gambling excursions in the excitement of casinos. She also was a talented painter, seamstress, and craftswomen.

The joy Tootsie shared with anyone who crossed her path was something rare and fantastic. But even more so, the devotion, courage and pure love she shared with her husband, daughters and granddaughter is absolutely sensational. She was a representation of the true beauty of life. Her love and beautiful spirit will remain in our hearts and memories for eternity. She will be missed immensely but she will be remembered fiercely and her love will be passed on through her memories.

A memorial service will be held January 18, 2020 from 1-5pm at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln Ave, Lisle IL. For more information please call 630.964.9392
