Eva Marie Ricci, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024, at the age of 62. Eva lived a vibrant and fulfilling life in Burbank, Chicago, Lisle, and Woodridge.
Eva excelled at her high school, Mount Assisi Academy, serving as student council president, and went on to earn a degree in graphic design from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She worked as a graphic designer before dedicating herself to raising her three children – James, Thomas and Elaina – with her loving husband of 37 years, Dan. Later in life, Eva returned to school, earning undergraduate and graduate degrees in speech-language pathology, which led to a celebrated career, where she impacted countless lives with her skill and compassion.
A woman of incredible intelligence, creativity, and drive, Eva brought beauty and thoughtfulness to every aspect of her life. She was a talented interior designer and artist, known for crafting intricate Halloween costumes for her children and hosting warm, memorable family gatherings. An exceptional cook, she delighted in preparing meals that brought loved ones together. Eva also had a keen eye for design, enjoying endless inspiration from HGTV, and she embraced a playful side through her enthusiasm for fantasy football.
Eva’s greatest legacy is the love, empathy, and grace she shared with those around her. She was admired for her resilience, positive spirit, and ability to handle life’s challenges with dignity and kindness. Whether supporting her family, guiding her patients, or offering friendship, Eva treated everyone with respect and understanding.
Eva is survived by her devoted husband, Dan; her cherished children, Tom and Elaina; her parents, Carol and Walter Lis; her sister, Donna (Michael) Connolly; her brother, Walter Lis; mother- in-law, Mary Ricci; sister- in-law, Mary Lou Spinasanto; brother-in-laws Mike (Lucy) Ricci and Nick (Kim) Ricci; her nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Eva was preceded in death by her beloved son James.
Memorial Visitation for Eva will be held Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 3-8 PM at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln Ave, Lisle, IL 60532. Memorial Mass will be Monday, December 30, 2024 at 10 AM at St Joan of Arc Church, 820 Division St, Lisle, IL 60532. Interment private.
