Lisbon Falls- Robert E. Robitaille (Tilly)of Lisbon Rd. Lisbon Falls died Monday May 18, 2010 at his home after a battle with cancer. He was born Sept. 1, 1933 in Glen Cove, Long Island, New York a son of the late James K. Robitaille and Mary Emma Fling. He moved to Waterford, NY and attended Waterford H.S.
Robert Worked for Freihofer’s Bakery in Troy, NY before enlisting in the Navy on February 4th, 1952. He married his wife of 50 years, Loretta (Ostiguy) Robitaille on March 17th, 1960 in Waterford, NY. During his service in the U.S. Navy he served during both the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict. Prior to retiring from the U.S. Navy he was stationed in Texas, Hawaii, Japan, Maryland, and Brunswick to name a few locations. He retired from the Navy after 21 years on June 26th, 1972 and settled in Lisbon Falls, ME.
After retirement from the Navy he worked as a Master Electrician for Keene Electric, Favreau’s Electric and T.A. Electric.
He belonged to American Legion Post 202 in Topsham, ME for over 37 years where he served as Vice Commander at one time. He also was a member of VFW post 2197 in Topsham, ME and Fleet Reserve Association.
He is survived by his wife Loretta , sons Robert (wife Arlette) of Lisbon Falls, ME; Richard (wife Nikki) of Galway, NY; Michael (wife Lolita) of Lisbon Falls, ME & daughters Kathy McLean (husband Mike) of Westbrook, ME and Cheryl Robitaille of Lisbon Falls, ME. He is also survived by his brother Thomas of Mechanicville, NY and sisters Nancy Ellison & Janet Robitaille of Ballston Spa, NY. Grandchildren Joseph, Alyson, Kyliegh and Ryan Robitaille of Lisbon Falls, ME. Haven and Madyson Ramsey of Lisbon Fall, ME. Joshua Drescher and Timothy Robitaille of Galway, NY. Sean and Alexander McLean of Westbrook, ME. Step grandchildren Katie and Dean Pitts of Galway, NY and many nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by both parents, brother Kenneth Robitaille and grandson Nicholas Robitaille-Ramsey.
Visitation Crosman Funeral Home Friday 2-4 & 6-8. Funeral Saturday 11 AM at the funeral Home. Committal will follow at Hillside Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Lisbon Falls Fire Company for the future purchases of Automatic External Defibrillators to be placed throughout the school system.
