Helen Marie Twaddle

Helen Marie Twaddle passed peacefully on October 21, 2024, in Punta Gorda, Florida. At 94 years young, Helen’s vibrant spirit never dimmed. Helen’s zest for life was matched only by her love for her family. She is survived by her children, Janice (Pete) Sosa, Michael (Donna) Twaddle, Joyce (Wayne) Sorensen, and her baby sister Joan (Frank) Skalitza. Her grandchildren, Christina Holdzkom, Michael Twaddle Jr., Jennifer Novas, Dennis Krutis Jr., Wayne Robert Sorensen, Brittany Sorensen, and Leigh-Ann Twaddle, along with great-grandchildren, Antonio Garcia, Jordan Rivera, Finley Sorensen, and Gunner Twaddle.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Twaddle; her son, Robert Twaddle Jr.; her parents, Anne Brite Sterner and Leroy Sterner; four brothers; and seven sisters.

Born on July 10, 1930, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, to Anne Brite Sterner and Leroy Sterner, Helen was the life of every party, a social butterfly who thrived on being the center of attention. Helen had a knack for making even the most mundane moments memorable, whether it was her devotion to her “first love,” Frank Sinatra or her perpetual promise to “start her diet next Monday.” She was an enthusiastic Pokeno player with a weakness for cheese doodles, a well-mixed 7 and 7, and butter pecan ice cream.

In keeping with Helen’s wishes for a joyous celebration of her life, a wake will be held on October 28, 2024, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM, followed by a funeral service on October 29, 2024, from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at Krowicki McCracken, 2124 E. St. George’s Ave. The funeral will take place at Rosehill Cemetery, Linden NJ. The location of the reception is to be determined.

As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, let us remember Helen as she lived – full of life, laughter, and love. She once said she wanted her funeral to be a happy occasion, and true to form, she’d want us all to raise a glass (preferably a 7 and 7) and celebrate a life well-lived. May her memory bring a smile to our faces and joy to our hearts, just as she did throughout her vibrant 94 years.
