Catherine Jean Macfarlane

Catherine Jean Macfarlane, aged 75, passed away on May 25, 2024. Catherine was born on March 30, 1949, in Newark, New Jersey. She graduated from high school and went on to attend beautician school before embarking on a unique career as a butcher. Catherine retired at the relatively young age of 50 to dedicate herself to her home and family. Catherine found joy in the simple pleasures of life: sipping tea, nurturing her house plants, and showering her dog, Sydney, with treats, love, and affection.

Catherine shared the last 20 years of her life with her beloved partner, James Danatzko. She is survived by James, her son Joseph Macfarlane and his future wife Bernadette Huynh, and her brother Graham Macfarlane. She was predeceased by her son, Jason Macfarlane, and her sister, Nancy Freda.

Catherine will always be fondly remembered for her sharp, witty humor and her love for all things New Jersey and Scotland. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time.

A visitation for Catherine will be held Monday, June 3, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at KROWICKI MCCRACKEN FUNERAL HOME, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036. A private cremation will follow all services.
