Wilmer “Hub” D. Hubka was born on November 5, 1922, in Narka, Kan., to August & Albena Hubka. He passed away in Lincoln on August 20, 2018. Hub served in the Navy during WWII as a radioman and he was very proud of his military service. Retired letter carrier from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a life-long St. Louis Cardinals fan and he loved dancing.
Survivors include wife, Marilyn; son, Steve (Teri), Lincoln, step-daughters: Stephanie (Mike) Rybak, Troy, Mich., Deb Hunt, Grand Island, Pam (Rick) Acord, Olathe, Kan. Grandchildren: Shanda Hubka, Mindy (Kent) Stetson, Jeff & Matt Rybak, Alexandria Acord. Great-grandchildren: Eloise Hubka, Emica & Adler Stetson. Sister; Karen (Gerry) Lillian. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. He was especially close to his nephews: Mike, Mark & David Heyka. Preceded in death by his parents and wife, Elaine.
Family visitation and viewing will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 25, with funeral services immediately following at 3 p.m. at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th Street, Lincoln.
