She was born in West Point, Nebraska to Frank and Sylvia Matejka. She grew up in Hickman, Nebraska and was a part of the first graduating class of Norris Public School. Sylvia married the love of her life, William Hoesche Sr, on September 20, 1975, in Crete, Nebraska and to this marriage they had 4 wonderful children. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family, shopping and bowling. She retired from Nestle after 25 years.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sylvia Matejka, her brother Frank Matejka Jr, and sisters Lucy Colson and Rosemarie Wagner.
Sylvia is survived by her husband of 48 years, William Sr; son Bill; daughter Jaime (Randy Earith) of Colorado; daughter Shelly; son Charles (Brittani) grandchildren; Riley, Jonathan, Makenna, Ambur (Logan Warner) of South Dakota, Stephanie, Kelsey, Olivia and Willa and great-grandchild; Ellie May. Numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Sylvia will be held Monday, October 2, 2023, at 2:00 PM, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68512. Reception will be at the VFW in Crete, Nebraska after the service.
