Roger grew up in Overton, Nebraska, with his two younger brothers, James and Allen. He graduated from Overton High School and later moved to Lincoln, NE. On February 25, 1968, he married Gayleen Eby. They had two sons.
Roger and his family loved to spend time at the lake camping and fishing. He enjoyed watching his young sons play baseball, football, and bowling. He was an avid Husker fan and loved watching the Kansas City Royals play. He bowled for many years and loved to play pitch with his friends. During his later years, he began his hobby of doing latch hook pictures and being with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother James Potter, and nephew Jeff Potter. Roger is survived by his wife Gayleen; sons Bradly Potter: Gregory (Julie) Potter; granddaughter Abby Potter; brother Allen (Maryann) Potter; sister-in-law Judy Potter; Several nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
A visitation for Roger will be held Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S 14th St., Lincoln, NE 68512. A celebration of life will be 1:30 pm Monday, August 15, 2022 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, with Rev. Clint Poppe officiating. 3825 Wildbriar Ln, Lincoln, NE 68516.
