Richard "Rick" Steven Erickson, age 72 passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. Rick was born November 23, 1949 in Belle Fourche, South Dakota to Richard and June (Graves) Erickson. Rick was raised in Grand Island, NE. He attended Wayne State College, UNL and served in the Army from 1970 -1972. He married the love of his life, Paula Edwards, on April 26, 1980 in Lincoln, NE. They were given a gift from God, Rachel, on January 18, 1991. Rick enjoyed traveling to tropical destinations, Husker anything, golf and outdoor living. He was diagnosed with ALS in June 2021. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Paula; daughter, Rachel (Matt) Bialas; sister, Barb (Walt) Zachmeyer; nephews Nick Prasch and Stephen (Jen) Prasch; loving yellow lab, Luna; grand-dog, Sadie; along with a great-niece and five great-nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Julie Edwards.
A visitation will be held Monday, September 26, 2022 from 4:30 - 8:00 PM with family being present from 4:30 - 6:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68512. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 1:30 PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3825 Wildbriar Ln, Lincoln, Nebraska 68516. lincolnfh.com.
