Phyllis Jean Venhaus, age 87, born April 29, 1936 in McCook, Nebraska passed away the morning of December 3rd, 2023 at Risen Son Christian Village, Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Phyllis is survived by her five children, Billie (Brenda) Venhaus, Randy (Patricia) Venhaus, Kevin (Carole) Venhaus, Lisa Venhaus, and Samual Venhaus; seven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
Phyllis grew up in Hayes Center, Nebraska where she met her husband Billie Venhaus. They married October 1954 and moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where they raised their five children.
Besides being a full time mother/wife Phyllis also worked a variety of jobs as a candy maker for Russell Stover Chocolates, cafeteria cook for Lincoln Public Schools, part-time assistant at the Nebraska Department of Revenue, and ticket taker at the Lincoln Race Course.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd LaVern West and Louise Goulette West; husband Billie Dean Venhaus; one sister Mary Ann Harris; and one brother Lloyd LaVern West Jr.
