Mary Ann Donoghue was born to John and Emma Van House at Benedict, Nebraska. She later lived in Ord and Kenesaw and graduated at 16. She was immediately hired as a full-time employee of the Lincoln Journal Star and at 22 became the paper's first Classified Ad Phone Room Supervisor. Later, she became a radio copywriter and was then KLIN Continuity Director/Nebraska Football Network Production Director. As a City Employee, Mary Ann was Office Manager/Administrative Secretary for Lincoln Area on Agency and then for Lincoln Commission on Human Rights.
In 1961 she married Carroll Donoghue who died in 2000.
Her interest included music, floriculture, volunteer work and Pekingeses dogs. As an avid floriculturist, she won dozen of ribbons at the highest award ever given, the Award of Merit.
Mary Ann sang in Lincoln Senior Chorus and in Choirs at St Mary's Cathedral, Blessed Sacrament and Cathedral Alter Society and Perpetual Adoration.
Preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers; 2 sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Rosary, Monday, November 6, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Cathedral Of The Risen Christ, 3500 Sheridan Blvd, Lincoln, Nebraska 68512, followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:30 AM.
