Janet L. Davis

Janet Louise (Poppy) Davis of Lincoln, died on October 29, 2024. Janet was born February 12, 1944, in Cleveland Ohio, to Willard and Margaret (Holmstrom) Poppy. Janet married Daniel J. Davis, Sr. on January 13, 1968. Janet was a lifelong teacher. She taught French and German for 42 years, ending her career at Scott Middle School. She was a “Francophile” and traveled to France multiple times with her husband. She was an avid Les Misérables fan and traveled with friends to see her favorite singer Alfie Boe.

Janet is survived by her son Daniel J Davis Jr (DJ) and his wife Abby Davis of Lincoln; her daughter Carrie Davis of Lincoln; her two grandchildren Lucas and Faith Davis of Lincoln; her brother Dale Poppy and his wife, Charleen, of Texas; her niece Linda Poppy of California; and her great nephew and niece JJ Akers and family (of California) and Nichole Eccles and family (of Texas). Janet was preceded in death by her husband Daniel, her parents, and her nephew Dennis.

A memorial service will be held on November 7, 2024 at 10:00 am, at Edenton Christian Church; 7001 Edenton Rd, Lincoln NE, 68516.
