Gretchen D. Walker, 50, of Crete, died peacefully at home on Saturday, May 17, 2014. She was born on December 2, 1963 in Lincoln, NE to Don and Arlee Miller. She graduated from East High in 1982; attended Kearney State College graduating with a Bachelor's Degree. Gretchen married Jeff Walker on August 17, 1985 and to this union three children, Jake (25), Josh (22), and Jordan (18) were born. She worked as an Administrative Technician for Center for Great Plains (UNL) for 25 plus years. She was a member of Camp Fire, Coach of Blazers Softball, two bowling leagues (Wed. at East Campus) and (Friday at Hollywood Bowl), Crete Boosters, Crete High and Legion Baseball, NAEOP Higher Education Council Chairman (2013-14), NEOPA President (2013-14), CEOE of UNOPA.
She was an avid fan of Nebraska and Crete sports, birds, cats, Kansas City bus trips, bowling, family and friends.

Survivors include: husband, Jeff of Crete; three sons, Jake, Josh, and Jordan; parents Don and Arlee Miller of Lincoln, NE.; brother Kirk Miller of Lincoln, NE.; Godmother Cherylene Jonas of Lemmon, SD; father-in-law J. Harold Walker and Lou Shields of Bellwood, NE; sister-in-law Kris (Brian) Decker of Lincoln, NE; niece Kiersten Decker; nephews Noah Miller, Gavin, Davyn, and Steffan Decker of Lincoln, NE; many beloved family and friends.
Preceded in death by: Lois Walker, mother-in-law; grandparents, Walter and Alma Egland of Rapid City, SD; and Walter and Jo Miller of Mantorville, MN.
