Born on October 13th in Beatrice, Nebraska. Edna was adopted by Albert and Emily Campain, of Franklin, Nebraska. She was a baton twirler at Franklin High School, where she graduated in 1945. She moved to Hastings with first husband, Kerwyn, and had her 3 children, Ron, Nancy, and Leon. Edna was in the American Legion Auxiliary, a nurse at a hospital, ran a food truck and worked in the cafeteria at Lincoln Southeast High School. She met Jim Ptacek at a dance and were married in 1983. They spent their time together dancing and traveling to every state. She loved going to the circus every year and fashion, including collecting hats and jewelry. She also enjoyed seeing Elvis impersonators like Bill Castril. She very much loved family and friend gatherings. At the time of her passing Edna was 1 of 5 generations including 3 children, 3 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim, and great-great granddaughter Coralee.
A celebration of life for Edna will be held Friday, May 20, 2022 at 11:30 AM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St,, Lincoln, NE.
Serving as pallbearers are Bridgette - Honorary Pallbearer, Brooklyn - Honorary Pallbearer, Kim - Honorary Pallbearer, Mike - Honorary Pallbearer and Adam - Honorary Pallbearer.
