Dolores A. Niebuhr

After completing elementary and high school in Central City, she went on to work for the Telephone Company in Central City and Kearney, NE. She moved to Lincoln in 1959 and worked at Union Insurance Co. and retired from McPhee Elementary School in Lincoln, NE in 1995.

Francis and Dolores were married on October 6, 1962 in Lincoln. They adopted two children, a son, Kent, and a daughter, Karen. Dolores loved and attended Husker football games for 47 years and cheering on her favorite baseball team, the KC Royals. She enjoyed attending band concerts at Antelope Park and Jazz in June, traveling, being involved in her church (Trinity United Methodist), luncheons with dear friends, and spoiling her cats. Above everything else, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Dolores is survived by her children, Kent (Kim) Niebuhr, Karen Britton (Niebuhr); grandchildren, Samuel Niebuhr, William Niebuhr, Maximus Niebuhr, and Dawson Britton; sisters, Melva Kennedy and Barbara Hall; many nieces and nephews; and cherished friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis; her parents; and brother, Jerry Hall.

A private family graveside service for Dolores will be held Monday, December 23, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Park and Cemetery, 6700 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68512. May leave condolences at lincolnfh.com.
