Clark A. Bauer age 78 of Lincoln passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at his home. He was born on December 4, 1937 at Pierce, Nebraska to Adam and Amelia (Horst) Bauer. On December 30, 1937 he was united into Christ through the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God. On June 27, 1954 he publicly confessed that gift of faith through the work of the Holy Spirit and was confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Clark attended Pierce Public Schools. He married Nancy Carstens on July 6, 1958 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Winside. They moved to Lincoln in 1961 and he worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for 36 years, retiring in 1999. Clark enjoyed outdoor activities which included, camping, hunting and fishing especially with his grandchildren. He was active as a mentor in many youth activities which included, Boy Scouts and the Nebraska Walleye Association. He also enjoyed competitive archery, black powder percussion and trap shooting. Clark is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy; daughter, Cindy (John) Randall of Elkhorn, Nebraska; son, Scott (Janet) Bauer of Malcolm; granddaughters, Kalee Randall and Hope Bauer; grandson, Andrew Randall; brother, Lyle (Evelyn) Bauer of Aransas Pass, Texas; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Delbert, Kenny; sister, Jeanette Schlender. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Savior Lutheran Church, 4710 N. 10th St. Lincoln. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family for youth programs with the Nebraska Walleye Association.
