Born July 30, 1959 to Maynard and Donna Wittstruck in Lincoln, Nebraska. Chuck was the firstborn son and the second of four children. Chuck was baptized at Sprague United Methodist Church. Their family was raised in Sprague and Chuck attended school in Crete, Nebraska. Growing up he enjoyed playing baseball and basketball.
Chuck was known to be an avid golfer and other hobbies included hunting, trap shooting and he loved to go fishing. As a young man he enjoyed mud drags and named his truck “Hell Bound." He enjoyed cooking, grilling out and the company of his friends and family.
Chuck was a jack of all trades working various jobs over his lifetime. He was an electrician, farmer, bartender and even trained Arabian show horses. He also worked at Culligan, as a water technician, for 14 years and later in life he enjoyed working on guns and locksmithing.
Chuck lived hard and fast, and was the life of every get-together he attended. He was always up for a good time and was a man who lived in the moment.
Chuck became a dad in 1978 when his first daughter, Amy, was born. Nine years later he welcomed another daughter, Kylie, and a son Chris. His favorite child, Ryan, was born a few years later in 1990.
He married the love of his life, Kathy Ress, on September 20, 1996 in Beatrice. They settled down and raised their family outside of Crete, Nebraska. They were together for 12 years before Kathy passed away in 1998. From that day on, Chuck spent his life missing her and couldn’t wait to be with her again.
Chuck was welcomed into heaven by his wife Kathy, parents Maynard and Donna Wittstruck, in-laws Dick and Mary Ress as well as his grandparents. He is survived by his children Amy (Jeff) Koeppe of Omaha, Kylie (Justin) Lewandowski of Ashland, Chris (Cortney) Wittstruck of Ashland, Ryan (Dani) Wittstruck of Friend, and Jason (Jenee) Livingston of York. Chuck is also survived by 13 grandchildren, sister Sue (Bob) Pavlish of Estes Park, CO, brother Donray (Vina) Wittstruck of Ashland, and sister Patty (Steve) Hearn of Hickman, as well as many other friends and family.
A visitation for Chuck will be held Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68512. A memorial service will occur Monday, April 29, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. lincolnfh.com
