Brenda Joyce Schmid

Brenda Joyce Schmid, 71 of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday, August 3rd surrounded by her loved ones. She was born May 26, 1951 to Willard and Dorothy Beck of Lincoln. She married Patrick on September 11, 1981. They had two daughters Megan and Ashley.

Brenda loved to travel. She loved her children, grandchildren, and entire family. She enjoyed Husker Football Games. Brenda loved animals and was an avid supporter of Capital Humane Society. She loved to read and work on craft projects. Brenda loved to garden and work outside.

Brenda worked with her mother (Dorothy) at Beck Ceramic Studio. Brenda was then a stay at home mom, until her youngest (Ashley) entered school. Brenda then worked at Valentino’s as a caterer. After that, Brenda worked as a Paraeducator at Eastridge Elementary with Lincoln Public Schools. When she left there she worked at HyVee.

Brenda was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2000.

Brenda is survived by her husband Patrick; daughter Megan (Andrew) Hill of Lincoln; daughter Ashley (Scott) Ulmer of Sutton; granddaughters Claire Ulmer, Nora Ulmer and Harper Hill; brother Willard (Cheri) Beck, Jr.; brother-in-law Robert (Betty) Schmid; brother-in-law James (Peg) Schmid; and several nieces and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents Willard and Dorothy; sister Constance Beck; and brother-in-law David Schmid.

A Celebration of Brenda’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 11th, 2022 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home at 6800 South 14th St. Memorials may be given to the family for charitable donations to be made in Brenda’s memory to Parkinson’s Disease Association.
