Bonita Brustad Josephson, affectionately known as Bonnie, peacefully passed away on Monday, April 22nd at the age of 82, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 6th 1941 in Bagley Minnesota, Bonnie lived a life filled with love, laughter, and boundless dedication.
For more than 60 years Bonnie was the beloved wife of Curt Josephson, with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories and adventures. As a devoted mother to Nicole Sweigard and Lisa Van Roekel, and their husbands Loren and Brad, Bonnie's love and guidance shaped the lives of her daughters in profound ways. She took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to Alissa, Sydney, Madison, Jackson, and John, finding endless joy in their company and showering them with affection.
One of Bonnie's greatest pleasures in life was spending time with her grandchildren, creating lasting bonds and treasured moments together. She adored traveling with her husband, exploring new destinations as well as visiting family and friends. An avid bargain hunter, Bonnie possessed a keen eye for a good deal and found delight in the thrill of a successful shopping expedition.
Throughout her life, Bonnie exemplified the true spirit of dedication as a teacher, positively impacting the lives of countless students with her passion for education and unwavering commitment to excellence. When asked many still say that Mrs. Josephson was their favorite teacher.
Bonnie will be deeply missed by her devoted family and a wide circle of friends whose lives she touched with her warmth, kindness, and infectious laughter. Her legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A memorial service to celebrate Bonnie's remarkable life will be held on May 10th, 2:00 p.m. at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S 14th St, Lincoln, NE.
Though she may be gone from our sight, Bonnie's spirit will forever live on in the hearts and memories of those who were blessed to have known her.
Rest in peace, dear Bonnie. You will be dearly missed and eternally remembered.
