William Bill Arthur Carroll

William Arthur Carroll, 64 of Lima passed away 7:20 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012 at his residence. He was born on March 31, 1947 in Lima to William Eugene & Evelyn Louise (Harris) Carroll, who preceded him in death. On August 31, 1969 he married Diana Strothers and she survives him.

He is also survived by his children, Marie (Tracey) Wells of Wapakoneta; Michelle (Mark) Krick of Lima; Melissa (CDR Shawn) McGinnis of Virginia Beach and Mona (Tony) Etzler of Willshire; his thirteen grandchildren, one great grandson; his siblings; Marline (Jerry) Guy of Lima, Glennis Beech of Chiefland, Florida, Jake Carroll of Lima, Robert (Desma) Carroll of Lima, Sharon (Dave) Friesenborg of Bartow, Florida and a brother-in-law Gary Clay of Lima and his beloved four legged ‘son’ Sparky.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Marcille Clay and Rhoda Carroll.

Mr. Carroll was retired from the Ford Motor Company having been employed with them for over 31years as an electrician. He graduated from Lima Senior High School in 1965. He was a Navy veteran serving from 1966 to 1971. He is a life member of the VFW Post 1275, a member of the UAW & IBEW. He was a member of the Dine and Ride Bike Club and had his pilot’s license.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 12 at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home with Rev Bryan Bucher and Chaplain Larry Inskeep officiating. Burial will follow at Lewis Grove Cemetery where VFW Post 1275 will conduct graveside military rites.

Friends and family of Mr. Carroll can call Sunday, March 11 from 1:00 p.m. till 5:00 p.m. and again Monday 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
