Thomas L. Naylor, 79 of Lima, passed away 2:16 a.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at St. Rita’s Medical Center surrounded by his family after a battle with cancer. He was born January 20, 1936, in Lima to Bill & Leah (Johns) Naylor who preceded him in death.
On June 23, 1956, he married Peggy Gentry who survives him. He is also survived by his children, Michele (Steve) Houseworth, Tammy (Scott) May, Tim (Cheryl) Naylor and Connie (Craig) Swick; his grandchildren, Jason (Nikki) May, Chad (Yeni) May, Ashley (Justin) Long, Shawn (Candace) Houseworth, Shane Naylor, Jacob Naylor, Cody Swick, and Jessie Swick; eight great grandchildren and his brothers, Tom (Carol) Holycross and Larry (Linda) Holycross.
He retired after 20 years as the owner/operator of Naylor Enterprises Machine Shop. He was honorably discharged from the Naval Reserves after serving for eight years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and the secretary for thirteen years. He was a life member of the NRA, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends. Tom was a gentle soul and was adored by his family.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be Saturday from 12 Noon until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m.
