Evelyn M Freel Austin

Evelyn M. Austin, 77, of Lima, Ohio died peacefully on July 26th at Springview Manor Nursing Home in Lima following a courageous battle with Heart Disease. She was born December 4th, 1933 to Matthew and Glenda (Gorney) Freel who preceded her in death. On August 20th, 1955, she married John Randall Austin who also preceded her death.

Mrs. Austin retired in 1999 after 28 years of service as an administrative assistant at WIMA Radio in Lima. She enjoyed music, playing cards and most importantly spending time with her beloved family. Her gracious and giving spirit as well as her contagious sense of humor will be forever remembered.

Survivors include 3 children, John (Betsy) Austin of Dublin, Ohio, Shelley (Darrell) Klima of Lima, Ohio and Jeffrey (Lavonda) Austin of Lebanon, Ohio. Four grandchildren include Angela Austin, Marissa Austin, Heather Austin and Lance Austin. Evelyn has one surviving brother, Lamar (Sally) Freel of South Bend, Indiana. Two brothers, William Freel and Phillip Freel of South Bend, Indiana are deceased.

Friends may call between 2 and 7 p.m., Friday, July 29, 2011 at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio. There will also be a graveside ceremony at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 30th at Highland Cemetery in South Bend, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
