Lynda Wray Butler, 83, died Wednesday, February 2, 2022. A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, she moved to Liberty, North Carolina in 1964 when her husband Dr. T. E. Butler, established his dental practice there. Known for her love of American primitive antiques, Lynda was a familiar face at area auctions in her new community. Over the next sixty years, she loved telling stories about how she had found her favorite pieces and the history of each one. She was an avid reader, a school volunteer, and she enjoyed playing bridge with many friends. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Liberty.
She was the daughter of the late David K. and Madge C. Wray and was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Dr. T.E. “Ed” Butler; sister, Johan K. Wray, and granddaughter, Lily Claire Butler.
Lynda is survived by her children, Shannon Stage (Steve) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Dr. T.E. “Chip” Butler Jr. (Carol) of Liberty, North Carolina; grandchildren, Benjamin Stage (Chelsea) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Samuel Stage of Boulder, Colorado, and Carter Butler of Liberty, North Carolina; great grandchildren, Henry and William Stage of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Sunday, February 6, 2022 between the hours of 3:00 until 4:15 pm at Loflin Funeral Home of Liberty. A graveside service will follow at 4:30 pm at Fairview Cemetery in Liberty.
