Jo Ann Bunting Hill

Jo Ann was born in Guilford County, NC on September 15, 1938 to Shellie and Gladys Denny Bunting. She married the love of her life Rev. Thomas James Hill on September 1, 1956. At a very young age Jo Ann taught herself to play the piano and played solely by ear. She loved to play the piano and began playing in church at the age of 10; she played faithfully for the Lord for over 70 years.

Along with her parents Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Rev. Tom Hill and brother, Terry Bunting.

She is survived by her son, Jimmy Hill and wife, Janet of Staley; daughter, Tammy Hill of the home; granddaughter, Jessica Hill Breffle and husband, Chadd of Staley; sisters, Kay Mitchell (Bobby) of Pleasant Garden, Gail Beal of Pleasant Garden, Janie Alton of Reidsville, Pam Atkins of Ramseur; brothers, Jerry Bunting (Kristy) of Greensboro, Gene Bunting (Robin) of Burlington, Anthony Bunting (Jamie) of Jacksonville, FL, and Parker Bunting of Fort Wayne, IN, as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 6-8pm at Loflin Funeral Home of Liberty, 212 W. Swannanoa Avenue, Liberty, NC. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Harmony Baptist Church, 873 NC-22, Ramseur, NC. Officiating will be her son, Jimmy Hill and Pastor Jeffrey Wright.
