Janice Gaynell Smith Catoe

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Coble's Lutheran Church, 5200 Coble Church Road, Julian, NC. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Coble Lutheran Church; burial will follow in Dr. Clyde M. Gilmore Memorial Park, Julian.

She was the daughter of the late Wiley Cornelius and Macy Tuttle Smith and was also preceded in death by sisters, Alma Harrison, Ora Smith and Margie Reynolds; brothers, Lucian Smith, Ray Smith, Dale Smith and Edgar Smith.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Sharon Ingold LaDew and husband, John; granddaughter, Shea Honey and husband, Derek; great-grandchildren, Miles Honey and Haley Honey; former husband and friend, Clayton Ingold; her very best friend, Shirley Coble; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Janice's family would like to express their gratitude to Carolina Ear & Hearing Clinic in Raleigh, especially Dr. John T. McElveen, Jr. for the exceptional care provided to Janice through the years. The family would also like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the compassionate care shown to Janice and her family throughout the last year of her life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Coble's Lutheran Church, 5200 Coble Church Road, Julian, NC 27283.
