We want to express our heartfelt condolences on the death of a wonderful friend and patriot. My dad, Hank Brodt proudly told me the story of how he met Col. Troy at a Temple festival. The Rabbi introduced my father to the Col. and was told that Col Troy liberated a concentration camp. When my dad quired which camp, the Col. responded with Ebensee. My dad shared that he teared up and stated "you liberated me".  A friendship bond was forged.  When Col. Troy was told that I was writing my father's memoirs. Col. unselfishly offered his expertise as he became the Attache to Mathausen and sub camps. Col. Troy shared invaluable information.  As I am always a work in progress, I was told about the impact of such cruelty that was  witnessed,by our servicemen. This caused stress on many of the troops. The Col. gave me as much time as I needed to learn about military culture. He was my go-to person to understand how best I could navigate the VA system to assist my dad. 
No trip to the triad was complete unless I saw my new friend.  He frequently had a new southern dish for us to try.  He offered us a place to stay if we needed it.
We are so sorry for your loss.  He was proud of his children, and grandchildren.  Not only did this country lose one of the greatest generation.  A parent, grandparent and dear friend is now a memory but his good deeds and representation of our great nation is now part of our history.  May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him and those that benefitted from his kindness and treating those with dignity who had not known that since before the war.

On behalf of all modern pentathlon, both USA and international, it is in sorrow that I mark the passing of Guy Troy, a truly remarkable human being. West Pointer, Olympian, humanitarian, mentor, coach, father -- he has donned so many roles in his 100-year lifetime that the cumulative contribution to us all cannot be measured. Modern pentathlon has certainly been the beneficiary, from the individual levels up through the highest international organizational unit. Personally, I have been inspired by his example, and am proud to be one of his fellow West Point modern pentathlon Olympians

The family of John F. Holland sends its deepest condolences to the family of Col. Guy Kent Troy on his passing.

Among his many interests, Col. Troy was an enthusiastic promoter and founder of the Pan American Modern Pentathlon Confederation. His efforts launched the growth of Modern Pentathlon throughout the American continent, advancing the sport worldwide, and giving pentathletes the opportunity to compete globally. 

Col. Troy will always be remembered. May he Rest In Peace after a long and well-lived life.

Being accepted as a Cadet at West Point is an honor deserved for only a few.  Being a member of an Olympic team is certainly a pinnacle of international athletic success.  Achieving both is an uncommon combination, one that is possible only by rigorous application of the West Point Motto and the Olympic ideals in developing, character, fortitude, and athletic ability. 

Guy Troy is one of 90 West Point Olympians. He competed in the 1952 Olympic Games and was a driving force throughout his life supporting Modern Pentathlon and West Point.  I met Guy at West Point about 15 years ago and he challenged me at the time.  I am sure I am one of many he has challenged over the past 100 years.  

Guy inspired me to do more following both the West Point Motto and the Olympic Motto of Duty, Honor and Country and Citius, Altius, Fortius he lived his life by.  I am honored to have been asked to represent the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee at his funeral.

Well Done Guy, Be Thou at Rest.

Guy was a wonderful friend, classmate and outstanding representative of the class of '46.

His love of West Point was legendary.  He was a dynamic, caring individual who never stopped serving.  Guy will be sorely missed.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Col. Troys passing. I went to All Souls with his wife and he years ago and he was one of only a few men who knew what integrity was and actually possessed it in quantity. To the family I am truly sorry for your loss.

Col Troy was a great soldier, a true American Patriot, and a good friend.I met him just a few years ago but we had a great friendship. We exchanged numerious stories of our careers.
At the time, I was Commander of  the High Point American Legion and each year we hold a Memorial  Service with a guest speaker. I asked Col Troy if would do the honors and  he agreed to with enthusiasm. He gave a great speech honoring our fallen conrades. He will be truly missed but will never be forgotten by those he knew him,

 Guy, our friend that will truly be missed by many.   He was a brilliant mentor to the young and old.  We love and admire him still and he will always remain a very crucial part of our church, All Souls Anglican. Being on numerous missions with Guy, as members of the Randolph County Honor Guard, it was impossible to not view him as a “class act”. He wore the designation of an Officer and A Gentleman extremely well. He will be sorely missed.

This was at one of our 3/4 Cavalry Reunions where we took the Group picture. The three other names I just forgot, sorry.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family and friends. What a distinquished, outgoing, and awesome man he was.  He always took time to speak and was always a joy to talk to. We seemed to always run into each other at the post office. He always told me to keep up the walking each day, and I do! He will really be missed here in our little town of Liberty.  He was special to so many. May all the wonderful memories of him stay with all of you and he will always be with you in your hearts.  Love, Ellen Carter Luck

Guy was a dear friend, a mentor, and a worthy example to follow in life.
He was my swim coach at New Mexico Military Institute, then arranged for me to compete in my first modern pentathlon competition at Fort Sam Houston, advised me on my subsequent efforts in our sport, and eventually we were both officers in the US Modern Pentathlon Association.   He was largely responsible for the Old Timers competitions which were such a great success, allowing all of us to compete in a friendly fashion once again, and a pair of outstanding formal banquets, complete with the Army Band, the Marine color guard, Generals cutting cakes, and all sorts of satisfying nonsense so typical of military celebrations.
I shall miss him!

It has been my deepest Honor to have worked with and got to known COL Troy in the past two years.  His support and love of the Army was amazing and heart warming.  He was a true American Hero and I will miss him.
