Mary Ruth Marrant

Mary Ruth “Marty” Marrant passed away at home, surrounded by family, on November 19, 2024. A Celebration of Marty’s Life will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on December 14, 2024 at Missouri City Christian Church, 412 Main Street, Missouri City, MO 64072.

Marty was born on August 2, 1935, in Providence, Missouri to Georgia (Eisenhower) and Edgar Foley. She married the love of her life, Justin Marrant, or May 25, 1957. Together they had two children, Ronnie and Carolyn, who they loved very much.

Marty was a notoriously hard worker who was always on the go. When she wasn’t a homemaker for her family, she held a number of jobs. She worked as a biller for the water department and dispatch for the fire department. The job she was most proud of, though, was the over 20 years she spent as a deputy recorder of deeds for Clay County.

In her free time, Marty loved going fishing and camping, especially when she could do so with her husband. She enjoyed a good trip to the thrift shop and knitting projects, and her family says she was a wonderful cook. She was also a member of the Missouri City Christian Church.

Marty is preceded in death by her parents, Georgia and Edgar; her husband, Justin; her daughter, Carolyn; two brothers; and one sister.

Marty is survived by her son, Ronnie Marrant (Robin); two grandchildren, Justin James and Jason Blair Marrant; and four great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Charlotte, Hunter, and Avery; as well as many other friends and loved ones.
