Born in Chester County, SC, he was a son of the late Lindsey C. Parker, Sr. and Mamie B. Parker.
After 22 years at Olympia-Granby Cotton Mill, Timothy worked for Richland School District One, where he later retired. He was a devoted member of the First Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Columbia, SC.
A man of many interests, Timothy cherished his faith, antiquing, thrifting, and metal detecting. He never allowed idle hands and always kept himself occupied, which developed his knack for tinkering. He could often be found sharing stories or enjoying quality time with his family. These simple joys brought significant fulfillment to his life and those around him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley Nobles Parker; his children, Timothy Parker, Jr., Scott Parker, Mark Parker, Sr., Donna Rish and her husband Leon, and Matthew Parker and his wife Chasity; 11 grandchildren, Bryan, Brittany, Kaitlyn, Teresa, Luke, Mark Jr., Hannah, Sierra, Jenna, Timothy III, and Seth; and 5 greatgrandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Lindsay C. Parker, Jr., Curtis L. Parker, Stanley L. Parker, and Charles E. Parker, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Timothy was preceded in death by his sister, Margie 'Carolyn' Campbell.
The visitation will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., with the memorial service to follow at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – West Columbia Chapel, located at 820 W Dunbar Rd, West Columbia, SC.
Following the service, the family will receive friends and loved ones at the home Timothy shared with his wife, Shirley Parker, located at 2956 Bachman Rd, Gaston, SC 29053. Guests are encouraged to bring covered dishes. Please park along either shoulder of the street to avoid blocking others in.
