In loving memory of Shirley Ann Kyzer, a remarkable soul who graced this world with her presence. Shirley was born on August 16, 1941, in Columbia, SC, and peacefully passed away on April 21, 2024, in Pelion, SC.
She was a devoted mother survived by her loving daughters: Donna, Audrey, and Kim; and sons, Darryl and Brad. A kind sister to Brenda Gunter and Rodney Driggers. Shirley's legacy lives on through her 15 cherished grandchildren and 34 adored great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lendy D. Kyzer; son, Ray Kyzer; granddaughter, Missy Crosland; and brother, Donnie Driggers.
Shirley radiated warmth and compassion, always treasuring moments spent with her family. Her love for sweet indulgences, captivating soap operas, and the timeless melodies of Elvis Presley brought joy to those around her. Shirley's dedication shone through in her 28 years of service at the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice until her retirement in 2003.
A pillar of faith and member of the Elmwood Avenue Church of God, Shirley found solace in Sunday sermons and beloved hymns like "Amazing Grace" and "Beulah Land." Her spirit of kindness and unwavering love touched the lives of many.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Shirley's life at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072, on April 25, 2024. Visitation will commence at 1:00 pm, followed by a heartfelt funeral service at 3:00 pm, and interment at the serene Olympia Cemetery.
Honoring Shirley's memory as pallbearers will be Parker Sherlock, Adam Byrd, Vinson Downer, Travis Lucas, Kyle Kyzer, and Donnie Driggers, Jr. May the beauty of Shirley's life continue to inspire and bring comfort to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her light will forever shine brightly in our hearts and memories.
