Rita was a secretary, boutique clothing associate, homemaker, and a member of Boiling Springs United Methodist Church. A woman of many talents, Rita will be remembered as an artist who painted beautiful seascapes, mountains, and landscapes. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
She is survived by her five daughters, Marina Gullard, Susanne Hafley (John), Alexandra Homeister (Alan), Berniece Wolf (Klaus), Carol-Ann Bailey-Lloyd (Guy); sister, Eva Shreiher; sister-in-law, Kathy Whittemore; nieces and nephews, Michaela Dreher, Tammy Whitehead, Curtis Whittemore; grandchildren, Johnnie Hafley (Hannah), Robbie Hafley (Johna), Ryan Bailey-Lloyd (Sara), Rita Marie Ricard (Phillip), Warren Wolf (Angela), Nicholas Wolf, Jacqueline McLaughlin (Austin), Norman Gullard (Stacy), Sabrina Free (Rick), Christopher Gullard (Kat); and seventeen great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bernie Bailey; her parents, Alfred Lost and Anna Schroeder; two brothers, Paul and Norbert; sister, Erika; five children, Norman, Norbert, Regina, Mike, Beatrix Bagnal; and great granddaughter, Laila Houser.
A visitation will be held for Rita from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 28th, 2023 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel located at 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29073. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 30th, 2023 at Boiling Springs United Methodist Church, 2373 Calks Ferry Rd, Lexington, SC 29073 with a burial to follow in the church cemetery.
