Mittie Ivory Christie

Mittie was born on April 3, 1945 in Winnsboro, South Carolina. She married the love of her life, Lewis Christie Jr., on October 26, 1959. They went on to have three children, Lewis, Carl, and Angela. She retired from South Carolina Deferred Compensation in 2002. Family was the most important thing to Mittie, as well as spoiling her grandchild and great-grandchildren. She was simply known as Nana to all. She enjoyed every minute of family time and you could see that in the love she had for her family.

Mittie was predeceased by her parents, Elmer Lee Truesdale Jr. and Peggy Hornsby; her brothers, Charlie and Dick Truesdale; her husband, Lewis Christie Jr. and her son, Lewis Christie III. She is survived by her sister, Annette (James) Baum; her children, Carl and Angie Christie; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Christie; grandchild, Breanna (Steven) Hughes and her great-grandchildren, Easton and Hadley Hughes.

Mittie had a difficult battle with lung cancer and is finally at rest. She will be forever loved and remembered. The family appreciates your love and support during this difficult time.

A graveside service will be held at Bush River Memorial Gardens on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 11:00 A.M.
