Jean Terry Jones Tyndall, 75, of Irmo, SC passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 25, 2021. Born in McColl, SC on May 30, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Florence Elise Burroughs Jones and James Douglas Jones, Sr. She met the love of her life, Franklin Eugene Tyndall in McColl, SC and they were married on July 3, 1965. She was predeceased by her husband, Gene in 2018.
After gaining her education, Terry spent her life and her career helping people through counseling, because she always felt called to care for people in need. For many years, she was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she was a trained Health Minister and served on various committees. She loved reading good books and learning new things. Terry was well known and respected by many, and was described as hard working, intelligent, generous, beautiful, and radiant.
Terry was a good friend and neighbor; a dedicated daughter; a proud sister, aunt and great-aunt, and an attentive and loving wife, Mama and Nonny. She has a large extended family, with many aunts, uncles, and cousins, whom she also loved very much. When Gene was living, they enjoyed traveling and family vacations, shag dancing, working in their yard, and volunteering with the Vietnam Veterans of America, and the American Legion. But most of all Terry found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandsons, playing sports in the backyard, having adventures at the park, shopping for prizes, baking cakes, making up funny words and songs, and Face Timing daily.
She is survived by her daughters, Kellie Jean Tyndall-Hunt (Paula Tyndall-Hunt) of Port Hueneme, CA, and Venning Elise Tyndall Stringer (Jeffrey Stringer) of Greer, SC; grandsons, Tyndall and Jones Stringer; brother, James Douglas Jones, Jr. (Karen Jones) of Bennettsville, SC; nephew, Brad Jones (Tracy Jones) of Hemingway, SC and great nephews, Brantley and Clarke Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, November 1, 2021, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, led by the Rev. Gary Loadholdt. In the Christian Church, November 1st is celebrated as All Saints Day, when the Church honors all God’s Saints who have gone before us.
