Dorothy "Maggie" Magdalene Lewis

Dorothy Magdalene “Maggie” Lewis, 84, passed peacefully on March 29, 2021 while surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born in Bennettsville, SC and graduate of Aynor High School. She was a member of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church and was a loving homemaker and a former Florist at Kroger Grocery Store. Maggie enjoyed arranging flowers and watching late night TV with midnight snacks. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, wife and friend who will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her father, JB Dudley; mother, Elizabeth Bolton Dudley; husband, James “Jimmy” Thomas Lewis and her brother, Riddick Dudley. She is survived by her three children, Catrenna Buffington Lewis (Ron), Dennis Raye Lewis (Dondee), and Bradley “Brad” Thomas Lewis (Susan); her beloved grandchildren, Shellie Buffington Leary (John Willilam), Kayla Diane Buffington, Thomas “Hayden” Harmon Lewis, Ariel Leigh Lewis, and Logan Ellaine Lewis along with her six great grandchildren, Noah, Brantley, Ady, Grayson, Lylah, and Eli and her sisters, Kitty Dudley Lewis and Julia Hodge Williams.

Family and friends will be received from 2:00 – 3:00 pm on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, with the funeral at 3:00 pm. Graveside will be held at Bush River Memorial Gardens in Columbia, SC immediately following the funeral.
