He was an avid cruiser and boat captain; a pool shark, an animal lover, a big Ford guy, a member of the cool dads club, & a Star Trek geek.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father John and Dorris Hayes and his brother Matthew Hayes. David is survived by his wife Candace Hayes, daughter Lara Sullivan, son Chandler Sullivan, grandson Oakley Sullivan, and sister Tammie Sessions (Jamie).
A visitation for David will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel, 503 N. Lake Dr, Lexington, South Carolina 29072. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Elmwood Cemetery, 501 Elmwood Ave, Columbia, South Carolina 29201.
