He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, June Rabon Woodcock; daughter, Christina Woodcock (Jonathan Brock); son, Bruce Woodcock Jr. (Megan Mintz); along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Scott R. Woodcock.
Bruce was a man bigger than life itself. He was an amazingly loving and devoted father, husband, brother, uncle, son, and friend. Bruce worked in fencing for many years after high school before deciding to begin his own towing company in 1988. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mud bogging, entertaining, laughing, passing gas, and educating his wisdom onto others. His friends and family were his whole heart.
The “Bruce” of Bruce’s Towing quickly became a household name for many in the community, especially those in distress. He was most people’s one call for many reasons: towing, trucking, mechanical issues, advice, tips, a laugh, or just because. After selling his own company, Bruce worked with his brother, who owned a mechanical repair business. The Woodcock Brothers could fix anything you can break … no job too big or small. Bruce was an enormous man with rough oil-stained hands which tended to intimidate others, but never judge a book, he was a soft-loving man that never met a stranger. This world has lost a legend that will forever be missed.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
His family would like to express their gratitude to the amazing nurses of Agape Hospice who helped care for Bruce and his family during his final months. His care team truly was the best.
In lieu of flowers, Bruce would like for everyone to simply pay-it-forward. Find a way to help one another; nothing is too big or too small.
