Roland "Mickey" Amlotte

Mickey was born in Lewiston, Maine on May 16th, 1948. He was a graduate of Edward Little High School, and then of UMaine Orono. He made his legacy working at carnivals, owning, and running different game and food stands. He was known for inventing the card and dice game, High Rollers, that people have loved and played for over 50 years. Many looked forward to gambling in his tents each year at local state fairs. His favorite fair of the year was always the Fryeburg Fair. If you knew Mickey, you knew he was “the hardest working man in show biz.” Some may also remember Mickey for his nightclubs in downtown Lewiston in the late 70’s and 80’s Julies, and Siddharthas.

He was the founder of a local nonprofit organization, Sports Projects Inc., where he donated money, equipment, and other items to and for children who had dreams of playing sports. He was a lover of all sports, including football and hockey, especially watching his grandson Cody play. He also loved playing cards, traveling, and enjoying life.

He was an amazing son, brother, dad, uncle, friend, leader, and Grampy. Mickey was loved dearly and will be forever missed. He leaves behind 3 daughters, Jennifer Carlin, Michelle Lebel, and Melissa Carlin. 6 grandchildren Amber McKellick, Alicia Nappi, Dylan Plourde, Cody Woodward, Nicholas Carlin, and Tyler Carlin. Many close family members and friends, including two very special people Julie and Bill Heald. He is predeceased by his mother Annette Amlotte, 2 sisters Beatrice Amlotte, and Diane Brown, and niece Katy Doughty.

A visitation will be held at The Fortin Group, 70 Horton Street, Lewiston, on Saturday January 6, 2024, between the hours of 1 and 4pm. All are welcome to attend.
