Nancy Theresa Labbe

She was born in Lewiston, Maine on October 28th, 1954, the daughter of the late Normand N. and Noel Y. (Boucher) Labbe. She grew up in Lewiston, attending area local schools and graduating from Lewiston High School in 1973. After high school she went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in early education from the University of Maine Farmington.

After graduation, she taught at Massebesic High School for a few years, then attended travel agency school and became licensed as a travel agent. She went to work for J.P. Travel in Wells, Me. Until her and her dearest friend Nancy opened their own successful agency in 1990 called Castaway Travel in Wells, Maine. After over 15 years she ventured on to her last place employment at Associated Eyecare, retiring in 2020. She then moved back to her home town, Lewiston to be closer to family and friends, where she also enjoyed helping her nephew Brandon & his wife at the Italian Bakery.

Nancy loved to travel making her way around the world visiting many friends across the country. She loved gardening and her beloved cat “Whoopie”. She enjoyed crafting and her card nights with her friends. She loved planning social events for work and family. Her most precious memories were attending every family function, birthdays, weddings, baptisms, bbq’s and most of all holidays.

She leaves behind many cousins, Don and Linda Leclair, parents of Eric (Tiffany), Michael (Kira) and Brandon (Becky), whom she would refer to as her nieces and nephews. She was godmother to Michael, and treated all the boys and their families as her own.

Predeceased by her parents and her brother David, who passed December 10, 2023.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 3-4:30 pm at The Fortin & Pinette Group, 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway, Lewiston, Me. A memorial service will follow at 4:30 pm at the funeral home.
