1943 - 2022
Auburn - Joline J. (St. Hilaire) Pelletier, age 78, of Auburn, passed away on Saturday afternoon June 11th at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 26, 1943 in Auburn, daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Daniels) St. Hilaire. Joline was educated in Lewiston schools, graduated from Lewiston High School in 1962 and remained a lifelong resident of the Lewiston-Auburn community. On August 4, 1962, she married her high school sweetheart, Leo Pelletier and together they settled in Lewiston until 1973 and then moved to Auburn.
Joline was a proud stay-at-home Mom until the kids were all in school. She started working part-time at Clover Manor for just a few years. She then worked for Nationale Pharmacy and finished her career as a pharmacy technician at CVS on East Ave. in Lewiston where she was adored by many of her customers.
While raising the kids, she was actively involved with the YWives and St. Joseph's School PTA.
Joline loved entertaining her children and grandchildren during the holidays with delicious meals, as she was a fantastic cook. During the summer, Joline enjoyed watching her kids and grandchildren cooling off and splashing around in their pool, which they enjoyed for 39 years.
At age three, Joline endured a severe case of whooping cough which damaged her lungs. As a result, she struggled with asthma all her life which developed into COPD.
Despite her physical limitations, she was always smiling and positive and always saw the glass as half-full. As the kids were growing up, there were many road trips to Connecticut to visit Leo's parents. Leo and Joline enjoyed many vacations over the years, traveling to Florida and Colorado. One of her more cherished travel memories was a month-long cruise to visit Portugal, Spain and Italy, culminating with a visit to the Vatican. Joline was a loving, devoted and hardworking wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
She leaves behind her soulmate of 59 years, Leo Pelletier of Auburn; her daughter Sonia Theberge and husband Vic of Lewiston, her son Philip Pelletier and wife Jarnel of Sarasota, FL, her son Scott Pelletier and wife Carla of Auburn and her daughter Donna Pelletier and partner Mike Woodworth of Auburn; four adoring grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two sisters Joan Morin and husband Ray of Lewiston and Judy Lavigne of Naples, FL, a sister-in-law Helen St. Hilaire of Lewiston and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister Joline St. Hilaire in 1940, two brothers Richard and Dennis St. Hilaire, a brother-in-law Gerry Lavigne and her youngest daughter Donna Pelletier's fiance, Andy Drouin.
