Jacob "Jake" Ingall Jackson

Jacob Jackson, (Jacob Jingle, Dingus, Jake the Bear, Pumba, and many other aliases), 44, of Lewiston, passed away unexpectedly on April 2, 2024. As he was in life, he left this world surrounded by love from his family and friends. Jake was a simple man but was known to many as a rocket scientist. A man of many talents, he shared tales of those talents with everyone he met and used some of them working as a scaffolder throughout the East Coast for many years. Jake left this profession and proudly became a shipbuilder with Bath Iron Works for the U.S. Navy with a special affinity for gunnery, and because his family was his most important work, he chose to change careers to be closer to home, working most recently as an inside machinist at MS Ambrogio in Auburn.

No matter what job he was in, he shared the most amazing facts about his work with those who would listen. Family and friends were everything to Jacob. He was a friend to everyone who knew him, and even those who didn’t. Jake could make a new friend anywhere he went and usually did. He was never shy and would always offer a warm “hi, how are ya?” Or “bonjour, comment ça va ?” to anyone he met in an accent so deep there was no question he was born and raised in Maine.

Jake was a collector of a variety of things, from t-shirts to coins, and made sure that everyone knew nothing should come out of its packaging to preserve its value. Jacob’s most prized possession was his two girls, Haley and Kylee. He was so proud of all their many talents and interests, doing all that he could to learn about whatever they loved so he could spend time with them and provide interesting tips. He shared his love of video gaming and the Simpsons with Kylee which became one of their many shared interests. He proudly shared about Kylee, a seamstress for Walt Disney World, and told how one day she’d be making costumes for their movies. He did his best to learn about field hockey to cheer on Haley at every game. The competition between the two of them pushed them both to always be better. He couldn’t wait to see Haley graduate as a lawyer and shared with everyone how she was going to be a top lawyer in whatever field she chose.

In addition to daughters Kylee and Haley, Jake leaves behind his wife and best friend Kerry, with whom he spent the last 21 years creating amazing experiences that she will forever cherish. He is also survived by his mother, Lavorne Jackson, to whom he will always be saying “love you more,” sister Bianca Woods, who was an innocent accomplice in many of his youthful shenanigans, her husband Ryan, and their sons Kael and Rennen, sister-in-law Mary Houle who was always be amazed by his impressive diving skills, her husband Kevin with whom he shared a love of music with, and their boys, Nicholas and Jason, brother-in-law Robert Cashman with whom he shared a few bottles of tequila with and their love of the best quesadilla ever made, his wife Sharon, and children Rebecca, Sean, and Juliana. He also leaves behind his loyal best friends, Dixon, Neo, and Pancake/Mothman. He also leaves to mourn him many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends from all parts of his life. Jacob was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Clifford and Phyllis Jackson, mother- and father-in-law, Robert and Geraldine Cashman, in addition to Simba, who’s been eagerly waiting to share ice cream with him again. Jake will be missed very “mutch” by all who knew him, but would want all people to live as he did and experience it all without fear.

A celebration of life for Jacob will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 2-5PM at The Fortin Groups new location at, 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway, Lewiston, ME 04240, followed by words of remembrance at 4PM.

The family invites you to wear something in remembrance of Jake. His biggest loves were music, comic books and The Walking Dead. Anything that represents Jake is encouraged.
