Born in Philadelphia, son of the late Joyce (Colquhoun) and Amor John Mason Jr., he formerly resided in Bensalem, before returning to live in the city for the past 50 years.
He was a graduate of Trenton State College and a former manager for Sears and Roebuck Company.
Bill served his country proudly in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
He founded the Mason Tax and Tag Service in 1975 which in 1990 became Mason Financial Service. He has been the owner/operator of the Mason Corner Store since 2010 and a member of the National Association of Tax Preparers (NATP).
Bill loved the casinos, going on cruises and vacationing in Aruba.
He was a huge St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams football fan and traveled to watch many games with his son and grandson. Also, he was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan.
Bill had many pet dogs over his lifetime and loved them all.
Bill was a very knowledgable person that had many great ideas! One of his passions was always helping people and was a notorious story teller.
Beloved husband of 48 years to Mary Jane (Jerreti), Bill is the loving father of William R. II (Laura) and the devoted grandfather of William III "Will", Kylie "Ky", and Kaydence "Kady".
He is the dear brother of Glen Mason (Diane), Amor John Mason (Maureen), Michelle Ryan (John), Jacqueline Masko (Michael) and Jeffrey Mason.
Bill will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, his sisters-in-law, Denise Jerreti and Diane Herman (Vince).
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, May 13, 2021, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the Fluehr Funeral Home, 864 Bristol Pike, Bensalem. Friends may also call on Friday, May 14, 2021, from 9:15 until 10:15 am at Saint Matthew RC Church, 3000 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. The Rite of Committal will be held in Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 527 Plymouth Road, Suite 415, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
