Bill was born and raised in Scranton, PA where he met Marian. As a teen he worked in the coal mines until enlisting in the U.S. Army to serve in Korea with the 27th Infantry Regiment. Upon being honorably discharged, he returned to wed Marian and they moved to Levittown where they started their family. Bill worked for US Steel until his retirement, putting in shift work and overtime to provide for his family, but still devoting time to them to take weekend trips and the annual “off-season” October family vacation. He passed on his ethos of hard work, self-reliance, and good humor to those around him and those who followed in his footsteps.
He is survived by his daughter, Janet, his daughter-in-law, Miriel, his grandsons, William III and Alan and their spouses, Andrea and Sarah, and his great-grandchildren, Penelope and Logan. He was preceded by his wife of 67 years, Marian, and his son, William Jr.
All services for William will be private.
